Course Recovery
There are several options available for students to makeup classes. Please review the options below and click on the direct links for more detailed information regarding registration deadlines and course options.
Mountain View High School Credit Recovery
Students who fail courses with a final grade between 50-69 qualify to take credit recovery on campus at Mountain View High School. Starting January 1st, 2024, Credit Recovery will cost $50.00 per course. Courses that students re-enroll in cost $25. In addition, Mountain View offers Credit Recovery Bootcamps in December and January. Please note that credit recovery is not NCAA eligible. You can pay for Credit Recovery here: mypaymentsplus.com
As of January 1st, 2024, the available courses are:
a. Math:
i. The following are retired GSE 2023 courses and will not be offered after 1/31/2024: Algebra 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.
ii. Any student that has not made-up Algebra I (course prior to 2023-24 school year) will need to enroll in the new Algebra: Concepts & Connections beginning February 2024.
iii. Precalculus (old & current) must be completed no later than January 31, 2024.
iv. 2023-24 new math courses: Algebra: Concepts & Connections, Geometry: Concepts and Connections, Advanced Algebra: Concepts and Connections) will be available February 1, 2024.
b. Language Arts: 9th Grade Language Arts, 10th Grade Language Arts, American Literature, & British Literature
c. Science: Anatomy and Physiology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, & Physics
d. Social Studies: American Government, Personal Finance and Economics, US History, World Geography, & World History
e. Health
Gwinnett Online Campus
Gwinnett Online Campus offers a variety of supplemental courses in both fall and spring semesters and summer. All coursework is completed online and students only visit the campus for orientation and to take finals/EOC. The cost is $250 per .5 credit.
Phoenix High School
Phoenix High School offers 7th period courses that take place after the student's school day. Phoenix operates on mini semesters, whereas students can complete courses in half the time of a traditional semester. The mini mesters are scheduled from August-October, October-December, January-March, and March-May. The cost is $150 per .5 credit.
Georgia Virtual School
Georgia Virtual School offers a variety of courses in both fall and spring semesters and summer. All coursework is completed online. The cost is $250 per .5 credit.
