Vision and Mission
Our vision is for every student to graduate Mountain View High School with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to reach their full potential and achieve their long term goals. Our students will become productive 21st century members of society who continue to initiate, innovate, and inspire the pursuit of excellence and continue to be lifelong learners. They will leave a legacy of excellence for current and future generations.
The mission of Mountain View High School's School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program addressing the personal/social, academic, and career development of all students. Schools Counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. In partnership with other educators, parents or guardians, and the community, school counselors facilitate the support system to ensure all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.
The school counseling program will focus on achievement, attendance, behavior and/or school safety goals this year. We believe that:
- All students can be prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.
- We are dedicated to student success within our developmental comprehensive school counseling program where academic and developmental needs are met.
- Schools Counselors are certified professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement and are involved in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of our school counseling program.
- Our professional school counselors utilize Gwinnett County’s ABC Report, CCRPI, student data reports, and community feedback to evaluate the needs of our stakeholders.
- All school counselors follow the ASCA National Model’s ethical standards in their daily decision making process.
